Many hobbyists and professional photographers prefer to use pictures Straight Out Of the Camera (SOOC). They want to show us the glimpse of genuine trueness in the photo. Even many viewers say, that the picture does not need to be ‘photoshopped’ or edited. The question is, should we bother with that?

And the answer is an easy NO.
1. PRESENT CAMERA TECHNOLOGY IS NOT MUCH EFFICIENT THAT IT CAN CAPTURE THE MOMENT AS WE SEE IT.

It’s due to the technology (lens) which we own. A human being can never see all those things with his/her bare eye. We use all these tools to enhance our image which would have not looked so great otherwise.
So, should we stop clicking pictures of all those stuffs which our eyes can't see?
No, PHOTOGRAPHY IS NOT ABOUT WHAT WE SEE OR WHAT WE SHOOT, IT’S ALL ABOUT WHAT WE IMAGINE.
It’s an art form, which is not limited to the present world or has anything to do with it. A photo need to be called “Photoshopped”, only when retoucher removes or alters a PERMANENT feature of the subject and still describes the subject as the original one. That said, everyone should try to get his best shot in the camera itself, and then process it later to make it look as it 'really' was or as he/she wanted to make it look. Sometimes I feel, it's that one more extra step, that is learning how to retouch and process photos, which has led all these things of choosing SOOC over processed one.

1. PRESENT CAMERA TECHNOLOGY IS NOT MUCH EFFICIENT THAT IT CAN CAPTURE THE MOMENT AS WE SEE IT.
The present sensor technology is far away from the technology that our eyes possess. Today sensors have a far lower dynamic range, color bit depth and works miserably in low light as compared to our eyes. You would have already noticed, how a camera behaves when we frame a composition with an open window from well inside the room or when we shoot a colorful sunset and then don’t get up the colors pretty well as we would have got/anticipated.
2. EVEN THE SOOC JPEG FILES ARE EDITED.
2. EVEN THE SOOC JPEG FILES ARE EDITED.
Do you photograph in 'Auto' Mode? If 'No', then why do you retouch your photos in 'Auto' mode? Using pictures straight out of the camera means you are processing the RAW file inside the camera. As Every JPEG file from a camera is a bit saturated, sharpened, noise reduced, distortion removed and compressed version of its raw file. So, why do the retouching in a predefined way in the camera when you can do it far better in your own way in editing softwares.
3. IS IT REALLY ABOUT SHOWING THE REALITY?
If it would have been about reality, then SOOC lovers wouldn't have used smaller apertures or slower shutter speeds. As our eyes never blur the background, neither it creates silky water or sun stars ever.3. IS IT REALLY ABOUT SHOWING THE REALITY?
